Saturday's Stupid Situation

Today my sister and I thought that it would be a great idea to walk around the lake in order to train for our 13 mile walking marathon. Those of you that know the lay of our city, Lake Hefner is roughly 9.5 miles around and this isn't the best way to start training for a marathon--especially if you started the morning with 55 minutes of racquetball followed by a 20 minute run. In addition to working out this morning, I sat through an hour and a half of pure sun at the soccer field, so I soaked up some rays sans sunscreen...then walked around the lake. Needless to say, I am now a human lobster, skin burning as I write this AND my feet have blisters, blisters and more blisters. I can't walk. I can barely move and I will be lucky to be able to get out of bed in the morning.

How are we going to make it through 13 miles in two weeks? We aren't spring chickens anymore at 27 and 28 years old!

Hey, you're allowed one sunburn slip-up every season - anyway, what's summer without a nose which is bright pink and luminous enough to guide planes in to land through thick fog?!

Ouch, sunburn = bad...
I was hoping you guys were running today (I was for about an hour, ugh).

You need to look into nerve-deadening cremes? Ouch...

Yesterday I thought that I was going to suffer for an entire week because of our Stupid idea... and I was sooo shocked that I can walk, run, jump, and play today!!! Yippee!! I guess I will have to hit that treadmill this week and next so I can endure 13 miles... gulp!

List for the Marathon:
Hats
Sunscreen
Interesting stuff to talk about
Pepto - to stop my bowels from needing to release 1/2 way through!

Must be nice to live somewhere where you're already worrying about sunburns. Right now I'm looking out into the sunshine and the 31 degree air and thinking I'm safe for at least a month.

But I'm sure you'll do fine on your walking marathon. Just don't push yourself and remember your sunscreen. :)

You girls are going to have a ton of fun at the Memorial Marathon. The finish line is pretty fun as Carl's Jr. is usually there handing out burgers. Trust me, they will taste great after your adventure!

Oh and Stephanie, you need to try to empty your bowels before the race. Try some coffee and some peanut butter toast. You will feel a lot better if you don't have to go in a port-o-potty.

Good luck! I can't wait to read all about it!!

I got out of breath just reading the details of "Operation Dumbo Drop".

Word verification - "nonsittr", someone who desperately hopes their friends won't ask them to look after the kids so they can enjoy a night out at the cinema.

I knew I saw you on Saturday! I was scared to yell, "Hey Jaimie!" as I was running towards you. LOL! You might run screaming in the other direction. I, also, over-did it on Saturday afternoon -- my calves are still hindering my sweet ghetto-gait.
