Operation Dumbo Drop is still going quite well...almost been a month since I've started this mess and the results are definitely there...even if they are appearing slowly. I haven't gotten on a scale in a while because I don't want to be disappointed when it shows me -1, so I'm just going to avoid that bad situation for as long as possible ;o)
I will tell you...there is one person in particular out there who inspires me completely with this whole weight loss thing--and he/she has no idea they are doing it. This person is not only beautiful and fit on the outside, but he/she is SUPER nice, great and fun. That person deserves the biggest THANK YOU ever...so if you think I am talking about you, I probably am--and You Rock!!!
On another note--but not entirely unrelated--I would like to spit out my current frustration: What the HELL am I thinking trying to run a 5K [3.2 miles]??? I ran the treadmill today and I can BARELY get to 2.7 in 31 minutes, non stop. This is with no wind or hills...Just a flat run in an air conditioned gym. I had Hubs drive me through the actual course when we were done and there are SO many hills! I will be lucky to finish...and now I'll leave it at that.

YOu will do great on your 5k run! It's amazing what your body can do when you are actually running it and with all those other people around...it will motivate you to keep going!! Trust me...it is so much easier to run the actual 5k than to practice on a treadmill...at least in my opinion...but I have never been a fan of running on a treadmill...YOU DON'T GO ANYWHERE!! Keep me posted on how you do...cheering you on from here!!xo
Kelly: I love my cheering pregnant fan!!! I really wish I did the breast cancer run with you awhile back...but you would have smoked me, but I wouldn't be so nervous about next weekend!
I have heard that your adrenaline gets a runnin' when there are more people around...and that a competitive nature kicks in...but I'm still so nervous!!!
I run every day I love it. I have never used a treadmill though, I think they look funny! Good luck to you though lopez!
Mr. C: While I was on the treadmill today, I saw that car commercial for the 'Soul' with all of the hamsters running in their wheels and I thought, Wow...I was no different from the hamster!
Treadmill running sucks. You can totally do it! Adrenaline is a huge factor, and you will be psyched out of your mind to kick some 5K ass. Get it, girl. You're inspiring ME from afar....yup, any day now I'm gettin' with it. Summer will be here in no flippin' time. Muah!
I have every faith in you, my super-dooper US BFF ... you can SO do it :)
*shakes her pom poms for you and cheers you on*
I love my new British BFF!
*Joe Swanson, drunk on wine*
Allllrrriiigghttt there Lopez, it won't be any big thing. You can do 3 miles in your sleep!!!!
You can do it!!
Awe you can sooo do it!!! I have faith in ya!!!
I am sure once your there.. your competitiveness will kick in and you will run over EVERYONE!
You are doing so great!! Don't worry, you will make it. Hello? You just walked 13.1 miles a few weekends ago!! A puny little 5k will be nothing!! ;-)
Oh, and I think that treadmill running is harder than pavement running. Maybe that's just because it hurts my knees. And I like to go someplace instead of staying in the same place. Don't forget to check out all the people and things around you, it will give you something else to think about. Math problems help too. But maybe that's just me, because I suck at math!
And remember, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!
When I am at the end of the pack in a race, I always tell myself that while I might be slow, at least I am out there doing something, which is a LOT more than most people can say!!
Good luck! I can't wait to read all about it next week!!!
Oh yeah, and neat post! Fun to have a secret motivator!!
[also 5k concerned]
You know what, it's going to be great no matter what the outcome. It's a tough course and it's Oklahoma - I'm gonna just go ahead and plan for gale-force winds...
Let's just begin slow and steady and take it out!
And the pep talks BEGIN!
