Our firm gave each person an extra hour for lunch to take any day this week to spend lingering around the Arts Festival...which happens to be across the street from our building. I am not a huge fan of art [don't hate, Neo], but I am a fan of fair food and spending an extra hour of lunch away from the office, paid--even if it scorching hot outside with a thousand people in a tiny area. Today was the day that my friend, Monica, and I decided to go on over.
I spent my art viewing time looking for Roosters...so that I could display OKC's biggest cock downtown...but we only found one. One rooster in that whole festival and it was a painting:
The picture was taken with the iphone...and you might notice a glare from the glass...can see the tent on the other side of the area we were in and if you look really really really hard, you might see our silhouettes, but it's doubful.
We focused mainly on the food. It was pretty good...we shared an upside down pizza [which quite honestly I was disappointed in because I actually expected it to be upside down...it looked like a pizza to me]...and then I had a Double Chocolate Cobbler w/ Framboise Reduction. Sounds delectable, right? It was a freaking brownie and ice cream. I can't tell you how my heart sank when I saw this dessert that I have been craving for days. Literally...days.
Here is my dessert...right before it was tossed in the trash [aka bin, for you English]:
Well...that was my 2009 Arts Festival experience. Not really worth sharing, but I did anyway!!!
Update: Below is Monica's dessert. It was, as she quoted, "not a let down". It was a Banana Royal...and she loved it!

Zoo Adventures
Yesterday, my sister and I took Jadyn and her BFF to the zoo for some animal fun. We thought it would be a major headache [too many people] due to the status reports from friends on Monday and Wednesday, but we were pleasantly surprised with a minimal crowd and awesome, not too hot-not too cold weather. We walked around and saw all of the animals--my favorite portion of the zoo being the Oklahoma Trails--and we took a tram around at the end to get some info on the animals that we visited.
Did I mention the bear fight? One of the brown bears had a mean right hook!
Here is a pic of Jade and her BFF on the tram:
After the zoo...and after I dropped Jadyn off with her dad where she and her brother proceeded to the art museum...I met up with my friend at The Melting Pot for some cheese and chocolate. It was so awesome--and totally didn't break the bank! However, my adventure to the casino with my sister later in the evening TOTALLY broke my bank...but sis won her arse off. I ended up losing all of my money and then $23.00 of hers...oops!!!
I am so sad that Spring Break is almost over...So very sad, indeed.

Good Times in Guthrie
For our first day of Spring Break fun, my sister, Jadyn and I went to historic Guthrie, Oklahoma. Guthrie brings a feeling of nostalgia to me--memories of men in cowboy boots getting wasted in the brick buildings, having a grand 'ol time in the bordellos and even whipping out pistols during poker games. It is amazing to me that the buildings and brick streets have lasted for over a hundred years--they have witnessed so much history! We went on the Trolly tour through the town and finished our trip with a few antique stores which was So. Much. Fun. To top it off, the weather was absolutely beautiful. Couldn't have asked for a better start to a Spring Break in Oklahoma!!

Bet it all on BLACK!!!
While everyone and their dog was watching the Oklahoma/Florida game, Stephanie and I took a trip to Firelake Grand Casino (yes, again). I brought $60 with me because I usually bring $40 and have to withdraw more, so I decided to avoid the $4 finance charge. Didn't work, I lost that $60 almost immediately, so I made a withdrawl, lost that and made another. I got down to about $2.32 and I was so pissed off and about swore off the casino for good…and then the slot machine turned and it got to about $50. So I told my sister (who had lost all of the $20 SHE brought) that when it gets down to $40, I would cash out and we would bet it all on black. Five minutes later, I was cashing out…
...and then we headed over to the Roulette table. There were these intoxicated northerners (drunk Canadians) at the table, throwing $100 chips all around the table faster than Stephanie and I would place our $1 chips down. So, one of the guys pulls out $500 and says 'I'm going to put this all on red - for boomer sooner - and if I win, I will give these two girls $50/each!"…and guess what! He won! and he gave us $50 each! They didn't leave right away, so we felt obligated to play some of our $1 chips…and we started losing…and then they walked away, but I was down to about $65 dollars…and so I said "F-it…I was down ten minutes ago, I will leave with nothing"…and I put it all on black!! And I won!!!! So...needless to say...my love for casinos has not yet subsided...
P.S. for those of you who may think that going to the casinos 3 times in 9 days might be a problem...I have to tell you that the only problem I am having is finding someone to go WITH me!!! I hear the casino in Tulsa has an ice bar...ooooh...!!!
