*My Face Tweets*

There are an abundance of social networking sites on the web in which a person may become addicted. The three biggest sites that I hear about daily [blogger aside, of course] are: My Space, Facebook and Twitter. I am currently or have been a member of all three and here are my opinions of them:

My Space: This was the first 'big thing' that everyone was talking about for awhile. I found all of my old classmates, talked to people that I hadn't talked to in years--and even socialized with my friend that officed next to me for hours on end. I was obsessed with checking it out all the time. I loved posting comments and sparkly badges on the space of all of my friends. And then one day--BAM! I had totally had enough of it. Maybe I grew up, having just turned 26 and felt that My Space belonged to a younger generation. I no longer have a profile there and have noticed that the crowd has thinned a little, too--as hardly anyone talks about it anymore…so, where did they all go? They went to my next opinion…

Facebook: Wow. How far has facebook come since I signed up for in it the middle of '08? Far. That's the answer. I initially became a member because somebody sent me a request to be their friend. Having remembered the whole myspace thing, I didn't have the energy to start on another lame website. Besides, I have emails for the only class mates that I want to talk to on a regular basis. Anyway…recently my friends have been 'facebook' this and 'facebook' that, so about two weeks ago I signed in. I had over 20 friend requests waiting for me…and after I accepted them all as friends, I found some other people…and basically just started collecting friends. Two weeks later, I'm so over it. Actually, I wasn't about it, so I don't know how I can be over it, but I just AM. I really tried, too…tried writing on walls, figuring out how to 'tag' someone in a photo…even tried to do a food fight, collect an easter egg and a clover, but I'm just not diggn' it.

Which brings me to…

Twitter. My new obsession--the app on my phone that I check every five minutes [or so my husband would tell you]. I love to send Tweets all…day…long. Also love reading the tweets from my friends, the blogs I follow and other random tweeple [Jimmy Fallon, anyone? Tina Fey?]. My friend Afton described it best with 'highly addictive'.
Am I craving a cupcake? Well, why not let my favorite people in the world know about it by sending a tweet to my tweeps? In my opinion, it is awesome and I can't get enough of it. Only people/things that I care about and I don't have to deny anyone as my friend so there are no hurt feelings.

Anyhooters, those are my thoughts of three major social networking sites. They are MY opinions and I don't expect everyone [or anyone] to feel the same way, but I needed a blog today and this is what was on my mind. [It all started when I tried to reciprocate in a food fight with my friend on Facebook and I just gave up with an EFF it!] Oh…and in case you didn't notice the clever title, I highlighted it throughout the post. Notice it now.
